This exercise is the key to calm and attentive horses.

The horse learns to wait for a cue from his trainer and can wait patiently until you’re done talking to your barn friends or playing with your phone without your horse turning into an attention-seeking monster.

    • The horse stands next to the trainer, shoulder to shoulder, feet and front hooves at one line
    • A bit distance between horse and handler
    • Neck straight forward
    • Head on a comfortable height for the horse with neck horizontal (dependson horse’s built)
    • Horse is relaxed
    • Ears forward
    • Advanced level: horse stands square and can stand left and right of the trainer

Key Lesson Patience can become a safe default behaviour.
