Always wanted to know how you can teach your horse to exercise without the use of a whip? In this Challenge you get the opportunity to train this! You get 14 days of online coaching so you can lay a solid foundation for the ‘reverse round pen’ lunging idea, without the need of expensive props!

Easier to clean up, too!

• How to built a sequence of behaviours and get an engaged horse
• How to reinforce behaviour with something other than food

This is what a participant said about one of the HippoLogic Clicker Challenges:

“I took time in this challenge to really look at how I interact with Buster. I had always considered myself to be strictly a R+ trainer, but I now realize that some of what I do involves pressure / release. It really became apparent when working on backing up.

I would first issue the voice cue. If Buster didn’t respond, I’d take a step towards him. If still no response, I would put my hand on his chest. I worked hard in the challenge to eliminate putting pressure on him. We essentially went back to square one.

And by the end of the two weeks, he would take a step back on voice cue. We are still at one step, click / reward. Another step. Click / reward. But that is huge progress for us. And I’m seeing it carry forward to other scenarios.

He sometimes crowds me when I go into his stall to give him his hay. Last night, I gave him to cue to back. And he did. 🙂 I’ve also realized over the past two weeks that I am too much “in his space” when working with him.

It may be because we are training inside, in the stall and the barn aisle, due to the time of year. So I’m making the effort to put some distance between us during our training sessions.”
