Grass

Your horse gets pushy on grass. Some days your toes are not safe…

While you’re closing the pasture gate, your horse dives into the grass behind your back. It’s hard to pull him away…

When riding, he pulls the reins out of your hands, just to snack…

You try to keep the lead rope short, the moment you blink your eyes or don’t pay attention…

He’s back in the grass.

Again!

It’s frustrating.
And it makes something very clear:

Your horse isn’t choosing you. He’s not paying attention. He…. doesn’t listen.

Stop Fighting Your Horse Over Grass

Imagine this:

You’re getting your horse out of the pasture.

Lead him through the gate, over grass.

Your horse notices it’s greener than in the field… but stays with you.

  • A slack in the rope
  • Soft connection
  • No pulling. No pushing

You pause for a moment.

Your horse stands quietly beside you. Head up.

He doesn’t push you aside. No diving into the grass to snack.

You walk through an area full of grass.

Your horse stays focused, responsive, and easy to handle.

Because being with you matters more.

You’ve tried everything!

  • Keeping his head up and the lead short: doesn’t work
  • Draw reins: won’t work
  • Grazing muzzle or grass mask: he’s still trying…
  • wiggling the rope: only worked in the moment. The behaviour persists
  • Targeting and clicker training: only work “when your horse feels like it…” or when you have high value treats…

You love your horse to bits, but this drives you crazy

What if…

There is a way to get a well-behaved horse who will not snack on grass until you give permission?

Something that leads to long-lasting results: not only in the moment, but for all Summers to come?

Something so simple, so easy to do, anyone can do it?

What Makes the Difference?

It’s not about stopping your horse from eating grass.

It’s about teaching him what to do instead.

And making you the better choice.

When your horse understands that staying with you leads to good things, his focus shifts naturally.

  • No force
  • No constant correction
  • No tug-of-war

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Does the horse get any grass/grazing in this training? My horse can’t have grass because he’s overweight/ has laminitis/ PPID/ EMS/ IR/ Equine Grass Sickness/ severe photosensitization/ chronic colic/ gas colic/ or has any other illness that makes them grass-sensitive. Answer: Especially when it’s important for your horse not to get any grass during walks or on trails, having a horse that listens is even more important. You can train the behaviour without using grazing or grass. Grass Training will prevent dangerous grass snacking/grass diving without punishment. The connection with your horse will stay intact.
  2. My horse is super FOOD motivated. I don’t think this will work. Do you? Answer: I’ve only worked with highly food-motivated horses: ponies, EMS horses, ponies on restrictive diets. That’s how this program came about. Because nothing else worked. Grass diving/snacking is a persistent problem in the highly food-motivated horses. You can use his food drive to stop unsolicited grazing. See reason #1: “5 reasons why HL Grass Training is different” (above)
  3. You are a clicker coach/positive reinforcement horse trainer. I am not. Can I do this? Answer: All techniques used in the HippoLogic Grass Training are based on positive reinforcement, two-way communication with your horse and mutual understanding. You don’t need to be an experienced equine clicker trainer or have a horse that is clicker trained to succeed. Every step is explained in detail. Just follow the steps.
  4. It’s Winter where I live. Do I need to wait until Spring/Summer? What’s the best time to start? Answer: Any day of the year is a good time to start Grass Training your horse. Winter is often even better: just before Spring arrives, with their extra juicy, enticing, sweet green blades. You get lifetime access and can review the program whenever your horse needs a little refresher.
  5. I struggle with self-motivation. I buy courses, start, stop, and then let them sit on my computer. They are a waste of money. Answer: Don’t buy what you won’t use. If you do better with a coach, you can book a free Guidance Call. Grass Training-with-coaching is also an option.
  6. Do you offer additional support if I get stuck? Answer: With this course, you’ll have all the information you need to succeed. If you want additional support or want to speed up your learning process, I offer coaching sessions over Zoom. A private coaching session can include feedback on your training video. You’ll get detailed so you’ll know exactly what to improve and how to do it, in order to get your desired outcome.
  7. What if I don’t like the program or it’s not for me? Answer: With the 30-day Money-Back guarantee, you can buy without risk. If you want a refund, no problem. No questions asked. Just email me within 30 days of purchase (info@clickertraining.ca). Include your name, date of purchase and email address you used to purchase the program, and you’ll get your money back.
  8. I’m still on the fence if this is the best choice for my horse and me. Answer: I’m not here to convince you about the quality of this program. Or, if this is the best choice for you. However, if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them. Use the form on the Contact Page, or book a 30-minute Guidance Call to get all your questions about the program answered right away.
